Jo Min Ki suicide notes found!
The 53-year-old was found dead at his home in Seoul yesterday, and is believed to have taken his own life.
Jo’s death came amid sexual harassment allegations levelled against him by multiple students at Cheongju University, where he taught drama. According to Yonhap, the six-page note found by police at the scene saw the actor apologized to his family and his students.
Police have declined to release the full note to maintain the privacy of Jo’s family.
Jo Min-ki resigned from his post at Cheongju University after police acquired testimonies from up to ten women of alleged harassment. He initially denied the allegations against him, but on 27 February, he released a statement apologising to the victims for the pain that he had caused.
The statement read: ‘Everything is my fault, and I am the one to blame. I am deeply sorry to all the victims for the pain I’ve caused, and from here on out, I will not avoid the social and legal consequences of my mistakes. I showed a disgraceful side of myself these past few days because I was suddenly overburdened [by the sexual harassment allegations], and I apologise again for that.’
