Samsung Galaxy S9 rumoured to be revealed in February

According to a report from Bloomberg, Samsung’s next flagship phone Galaxy S9 will be revealed in February, sooner than expected.

The korean electronics giant plans to introduced 2 new models, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, pretty much like what they have done previously, eg. S7 and S8. The schedule would be a month earlier than for the current Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus

The new phones, similar to the current Galaxy models, but they include upgraded camera systems.

There were rumours suggesting that the new phones will look very similar to the S8 and S8+, and there’s possibility of a screen that stretches to the bottom of the phone, like the iPhone X, but with a narrow bezel on the top for the front-facing camera, IR sensor, iris scanner and other sensors.

Prominent phone leaker and 3D concept artist Benjamin Geskin mocked up what such a phone could look like and posted in his twitter:

Other rumours going around are possibly the improved 5.8 inch and 6.2 inch Super AMOLED displays and advanced 3D sensor for face recognition.

The phone price as expected would be around $1000. Definitely as competitive as the iPhone X or even Samsung Note 8.

Look out for the flagship phone is 2018 as it might be the first phone to be released in that year.

We will update with more details when the phone is launched.
